Besties and the Books Podcast
Ep 20 Books That TRAUMATIZED US as kids ✨ BOOKS THAT MADE US SERIES
Today is the big kick off of our Satanic Panic Series! We laugh, we cry, we use this platform to help heal ourselves, and hopefully you all, by discussing topics that are difficult, but ultimately helped to shape us as people.
First and foremost, take care of yourselves. Please be aware of Trigger Warnings, and adjust your listening as necessary. Your mental health comes first.
Ashley and Liz discuss 2 books (each) that we read as kids that drastically changed our outlook on life, and that we (as adults) do not think were age appropriate in content or theme.
Ultimately, as part one of this series, we hope to provide context for the following episodes that will focus on the “Satanic Panic” book banning of the 1990’s and early 2000’s, and our personal reclamation of that time through our HARRY POTTER BONUS SERIES coming in mid August.
Follow along @bestiesandthebookspodcast on Instagram and @bestiesandthebookclub on Fable for all the details.
And don’t you worry, we still deal with trauma through humor, so you can count on a fave and fail including a great bathtub fall and a readathon and a smash or pass if you were a mermaid or a duck!
